November 19 Permaculture Garden

For me, the first step of horticultural therapy practice is to make hands dirty. The seven-year-old permaculture garden is a wonderland where time stops flying. How lucky I am to be accompanied by a horticultural therapist, a hunter and a nature reporter.

Starting seeds

2011.11.18 Nursery

After buying some kinds of seeds, I started seeding. At the same time, I wanted to try different kinds of containers for seeding. After all, not every one can use seed trays in his own place.
This is a tray used to pack grapes. I tried to puncture at the bottom.

Do bamboo leaves match longan leaves?

2011.11.15 HT Garden

Get two more piles of compost ready. The second one is full of bamboo leaves and soil underneath from the bamboo forest on the top of the hill. The third one is made of a mix of bamboo leaves and longan leaves from the roof of Uncle Shea's house down the hill.

到外面走走keep walking in the nature

More than one thousand years ago, a poet was amazed by Yellow River, one of the 10 longest rivers in the world, and wrote a poem to appreciate the boundlessness of nature. When we feel down, go out and enjoy the power of Mother Nature. To live healthily, keep moving in the nature. (An old Chinese saying) Our ancestors have known how to get healed in the nature.

Bamboo leaves??

November 14 HT garden
Bamboo forests can be seen everywhere in our small village. Bamboo sheath is used to pack food, poles are used to as beams in houses structures,  strips are used to make farmers' hats, and shoots are eaten fresh or dried. It is said that the water in our family well is always clean and running due to the bamboo forest around the well.
