Germinating fast

November 28, Nursery

 Second seedling tray: Seedlings were growing very fast. They were almost 3 cm tall now. I guess the sufficient light helped a lot.

 Tray 3: 39 seedlings of lettuce and 11 seedlings of crown daisy (Chrysanthemum coronarium Linn ).

 Seedlings of  crown daisy  looked great. They will be very tasty in hot pot for Chinese New Year.

原來茼蒿是菊科(Asteraceae)的，是不是蟲子比較不愛吃呢?喜歡冷涼氣候的茼蒿能夠熬過這幾天的大太陽嗎?心中開始發出強烈的支持力量，希望它們能夠接收到。

November 30 Nursery and HT garden

The first tray may be too shallow for shoots to grow long. 

 Today I transplanted seedlings of lettuce in tray 1 into a bigger cell tray. Compost mix was added first for roots to grow more easily.

 16 seedlings from tray 1, 14 seedlings from tray 2 and 5 seedlings from tray 3. Since my first bag of compost mix was used up shortly, I bought a big bag of mix from the nursery shop. The new mix looked very dark. Would that refer to a better result?

 Seeds of beans and celery started to germinate.

 A bucket of kitchen waste was added into compost pile 4.

 Leaves of longan and mango trees nearby were used to cover the compost.
